It's that Magical time of year again!

US!

Jubilee Barn is a small part of a much larger family run farm.  we gave up work 6 years ago to come work the farm with Bobby's Parents. we have been living here almiost 3 years.  For the First two an da half we were in a Caravan! not gonna lie it as cramped!!  But now we are in our beautiful home whch was the cow shed but now an aming house we designed and bobby built.
we share the house with our 2 children, 2 dogs and the cat, plus everyone/thing that wonders in!!!!!!

Our yurt

We are very proud to say our Yurt is British made, by an amazing company...yurts for life.
The ash and oak timber is sourced from trees which are less than half a mile from the workshop in Devon, or from an FSC accredited source in Wiltshire. The timber is planked and then carefully selected for different parts of the yurt; the wheel, the roof ribs, the trellis. Components are all steamed and bent to achieve the desired shape, hand sanded and then treated with oils (several coats) for a beautiful and long-lasting effect.    If you would like your own yurt we can highly recommend them.......... for further info please follow the link below

Fancy Facilities

If you think eco = simple......think again ....

There is a lot of magic that goes on in our little bathrooms .....The shower has hot and cold running water (like a normal shower) with a gas boiler.  This is fed from our own spring and bought to the farm via a pump house. You wont get better water than this! Although there is no electricity in the accomodations, there are still lights in the bathrooms which are powered by the solor panels on the roof.

The loo is a composting toilet.  To use our toilet you have to sit down for everything, ladies, this is nothing short of normal but in this case the men have to too.  When you sit he flap at the back of the toilet opens (for the poop) and the front part of the toilet is for the pee!!!  you do how ever have to stay sitting to make sure the flap at the back is open for the tissue. The pee goes in to a soak away and the poop gets collected along with some saw dust!!!!      It's a very clean and easy way of being eco friendly and although it does state after 3 months we can use it on our veggy patch.... I don't think well be doing that!!!!
